Translated, Hafod (pronounced Havod), means ‘summer pasture’ in English.
This fantastic cheese is produced on Wales’ longest certified organic dairy farm, Bwlchwernen Fawr, by the Holden family. Their 65 Ayrshire herd of cows produce a milk which is rich in butterfat and protein - key components when it comes to making award winnng cheese.
Hafod is clothbound and being a handmade, artisan cheese, it may contain naturally occurring blue veins which are a familiar charachteristic to this type of cheese! Enjoy with pale ales, sauvignons & pinot noirs!
