This wonderful Cornish cheese is made at Lynher Dairies near Truro.
The name ‘Yarg’, comes from it’s creator, Alan Gray, who reversed the spelling of his own name!..(How many of you are already trying to reverse your name in your head?!)
The Yarg won GOLD at the World Cheese Awards last year, with Lynher dairies other cheese, Kern, winning Supreme Champion, beating 3000 cheeses!
It's stunning appearance is down to the nettle leaves, which attract naturally occurring moulds and are brushed onto each cheese by hand. It’s flavour is delicately herbaceous, lemony & creamy. A stunning cheese in terms of appearance & taste.
