An absolute classic! This traditional farmhouse Cheddar is characterised by a densely rich and creamy texture, and layers of flavour that can range from savoury and mustardy to juicy and bright, with a pleasing tang of acidity.
The Keens have been making cheese at Moorhayes Farm in Somerset since Great Aunt Jane made her first cheese in 1899! The secret recipe has been passed down through the generations and is still made using the traditional methods from milk from their Friesian cows. The cloth-bound cheeses mature for more than 12 months in the farm store, resulting in a tangy and full bodied taste.
Pairing notes - Lovely with your favourite British Pale Ale. Wine - Try Pinot Noir, Beaujolais, Syrah, Port, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, or Chenin Blanc. Stunning on a crisp cheese cracker, with a ploughman's or watch it be demolished on your cheeseboard!
